Online Cheating Scum

I love gaming and I love playing games online but I am getting frustrated more and more as more and more people cheat rather than game now. The main culprit at the moment is Call of Duty : Modern Warfare 2. I know this is one of the most popular games of all time but man does it attract the scum of the earth. How can this be fun !

People work damn hard to live and then want to game as a way of relaxing after work and some scumbag wants to take that away from them. What is wrong with people? I have heard MW2 called the worst game ever, a broken game, Modern Warfail I could go on forever. The one point they are all missing is that it is not the game but the community who "play" the game who are broken.

We have had to endure xp hacks, javelin glitches, care package glitches, sky walking, speed hacks these are the real cheats but I would include all the following in the same catagory using over powered weapons and combinations ( A secondary weapon is called a secondary weapon for a reason) camping(what fun is it sitting in a corner waiting for someone to come past not even having to aim sometimes) nuke/shield boosting (really ! how is this fun) noob tube/one man army. What is wrong with people.

I spoke to my friends about the idea of setting up a group of people so you could always get a good game but that would rely on trust and most random people cannot be trusted and it would be impossible to police, an over 18 live which could be used seperate to normal live but there is just as many idiots over 18 as under, Local servers would not work either as although there are a high number of Americans that cause the problems there are good Americans too and the same percentage of English, Irish, Scottish, Welsh idiots and every other country that games too.

Two reasons for this increase in cheats is the faceless penis extension called youtube and the sheep phenomenon.

Penis Extension - Using a website to post a video of youself cheating to get more "fans" a way of being popular in a cyber world because there must be something wrong with their real life personality. You might have 2.2 Gazillion subscribers but so what you could die tomorrow and not one of them would give a shit.

Sheep Phenomenon - The idiot who uses the youtube cheat or does something because "everybody else is" I never thought I would use this phrase and sound like my parents but if they jumped off a cliff would you.

What do you ganme for? fun or as a sad expensive way of trying to fit in society. Come on lets game fair and put the enjoyment back into it. What sense of satisfation does anyone get from this or any cheap tactics. Ok you might have a high kill/death in a game but at some point you will have noone to game with as every one will have blocked/avoided you. I file reports every time for all the good it does as nothing changes. (I know the enforcement team have a hard job and I respect them more and more for every idiot who gets banned) for the first time since I got my PS3 and 360 I am now gaming more single player than multiplayer only playing multiplayer when friends are on.

Can I just thanks the makers of
Bayonetta,
Uncharted,
Mass Effect,
Bioshock,
Darksiders,
God of War,
Heavy Rain,
Dante's Inferno,
Saw,
Ghostbusters

and others I may have forgot for producing single player games to game me & others sane during the worst cheating times.

Please for crying out loud lets game fair before we all give up for good !!!!!
How to you feel about cheats and cheap players?

Atari Screw Europe With Ghostbusters !

We in europe get screwed so often its a wonder why we bother. I remember when the PS3 was supposed to be launched I had pre ordered it and then they announced they were giving the european stoke to north america I was so annoyed that that same day I went out and bought my Xbox 360 and never looked back.
I do have a PS3 but the xbox get so much more use. I have 60+ games on 360 and 6 or 7 on PS3. Just the fact that I like achievements and the live service is so much superior. That's not to say Microsoft don't screw us over with realeases, gamer pics and themes etc.
But I would never have bought a 360 if they had launched as planned and the 60 games x £30 average would have gone in sony coffers plus money for all the extra I wouldn't have bought (wireless adaptor, 2nd controller, plug and play charger, street fighter 4 joystick oh yeah and I am on my 3rd xbox all of which I bought rather than repaired)

What I am referring to today is the news that ghostbuster will not be coming out on 360 and wii for some time yet as its going to be a PS3 and PS2 timed exclusive. Thats bad enough but then I read its in Europe only and in north america it will be coming out as planned. I for one will be making a stance and not buying this game full stop. For reference here are some links.
The only way we can make ourselves heard is to show we are not impressed with it by closing our wallets or purses. I think this maybe the last straw for Atari, a company that has not been doing well as of late now will lose a lot in lost sales as most people don't have both consoles (exluding the wii as a serious gaming device) and I for one will be happy.
Atari are video game legends but I am finished with them and race pro and alone in the dark are getting traded in tomorrow (other atari published games). Let me know how you feel about the news.

Xbox Live Points

Why does anyone buy Xbox points from the xbox dashboard when they can be purchased elsewhere for cheaper. But the point I really wanted to make is the fact that spending points doesn't feel like spending actual money. I can't recall how many points I must have spent and wasted on live but if they were actually a price to pay I probably would not have bought them. I worked out that I have spent £80 plus on rockband alone not to mention the 35 arcade games I have bought and the countless downloadable content. The problem I have is I buy 2100 points for 1 arcade game or downloadable content and then spend the rest on rubbish.

I think that 27 out of the 35 arcade games I have bought I would not have bought if it was real money rather than points. The only arcade games I think were worth it were.

Rez HD
Castle Crashers
Peggle
Super Street Fighter 2 HD Remix
Geometry Wars
Geometry Wars 2
Braid
and Turtles the arcade game

I would recommend these games to anyone although turtles and castle crashers are great fun when you have a few mates and a few beers. I now hear that turtles in time is coming out I can't wait.

I have always been a street fighter 2 fan since I was a teenager and used to shove pound after pound in the machine. After the farce that xbox/capcom released of street fighter hyper fighter (which was the first game I ever bought a points card for) I was not looking forward to it but after been tempted by the points not pounds things I invested in it and It kept me going until street fighter 4 came out the best thing was the move were slightly simplified so that they could be pulled off on the shitty xbox controller.

Geometry wars is one of the only games that has really made me competetive against my friend striving for that high score. I only played 1 or 2 games every day for months but got better and better at it and they are my most prized achievements because I never thought I would get them. I got every one on the first game over the space of 6 months for some people they may have been easy but not for me.

Let me know what your favourite arcade games are and why.

What to do while waiting for the big AAA titles

Around christmas 2008 games were coming out with abundence but now we have all played through Gears of war 2, Call of duty: World at war, Mirror's Edge, Left 4 Dead, Fallout 3 etc before christmas and Street fighter 4, Resident evil 5, Killzone 2 since. The question is what to do now. Is it just me or do games not have the same longetivity (if that is a word) I remember playing games for months now it is weeks if that. There are a few things you can do

1 Replay the games for the achievements or trophies or to make sure you have done everything you can on the game

2 Get the DLC for the game

3 get older games you may have missed out of when they was released.

I went for number 3 as number 1 does not really interest me (at this point) as I don't have any interest in going over the same parts of games again to get to the content I have missed previously. Number 2 I looked over because most of them do not represent good value for money especially when the content for a few is already on the disk. For example how can I justify spending money on a outfit for my Guile in street fighter 4 (not that they come in singles anyway) or fallout 3 when I did not trapse over every yard of land in the game.

Actually I have a beef with this game anyway. I was really enjoying it then I finished it within about 30-35 hours. When I say finished I don't mean 100% I mean got the ending. I did not know it was the ending and did not save before hand ( My stupid fault I know) but I have still not got to grips with making different save files or saving regularly but thats for another blog. My point is now if I wanted to continue I have 2 options start from scratch or wait for this 3rd DLC to come out with removes the ending and the level 20 cap but I am unwilling to pay for something that should have been in the game anyway.

My other grief with DLC is when it comes out not long after the game if this is the case it really should be on the disk included in the full game.

So I went for option 3.

I picked up Lost Odyssey in preperation for when we in the west finally get our hands on Final Fantasy 13 to get me back into practice of Jrpg's not played turn based combat sinces months of my life were taken up by final fantasy 7 & 8. And at £10 how could I not have picked it up that's £2.50 a disk so that makes it a bargain in my eye. (Even though I know its not really as it is still 1 game. The second game I picked up was ninety-nine nights for a even better value for money 99p. I gonna go and have a bash on these and see how I go but will follow this blog up once I have put in a few hours into both. The 3rd game I am looking at is oblivion I did have this before but never really got it. Think I made it just out of the sewers but everyone I speak to really raves about this game and now after playing fallout I might get it. By get it I mean the game sinks in for me and I might enjoy it would love to hear your views on this game.
